PE, part of Pozitive Planet, will become a partner of the Rugby Football Union in a long-term partnership commencing on 1st September 2022.
As the UK’s leading, independent B2B energy supplier, PE will explore ways in which it can offer its expertise and guidance to grassroots clubs and Twickenham Stadium during a period of energy price challenges. This will be achieved through best-in-class case studies, innovative technology capabilities when it comes to measuring energy output, providing tariffs based on energy profile, energy storage solutions and electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions, enabling cost management and a reduction in carbon emissions.
PE is already involved in rugby through its supply of energy to eight of the RFU’s artificial grass pitch venues as well as via a long-standing partnership with local club, Mersea Island RFC, at which members of the company’s staff regularly volunteer.
Rob Grenville-Jones, RFU Commercial Partnerships Director said: “At a time of rising energy costs, we are pleased to be working with an innovative, technology focussed company that can provide the RFU and our member clubs with guidance and analysis on cost management and tailor-make packages based on need. “The PE team’s passion for the sport, though their involvement and volunteer work at a club local to their Colchester headquarters, shines through and we look forward to kicking off the partnership from September.”
Steve Daniels, PE Chief Sales Officer and Co-founder said: “We are absolutely delighted to enter into this long-term partnership with the RFU. Having personally played rugby all my life, now coaching a youth side and being part of a club committee, I fully understand the pressures clubs are under to reduce costs wherever possible and also to reduce the administrative burden for its volunteers. Everyone at PE is looking forward to working with the RFU and grassroots clubs in order to achieve this goal."
