Honda Volunteer of the Year Awards– the power’s in your hands

Nominate your exceptional volunteers.

You know who they are. They are the people who have made rugby happen over the past year; the local heroes who have had a major impact in their clubs and communities. Now is the time to nominate them for The Honda Volunteer of the Year Awards 2024 to celebrate their success and say thank you.

The Honda Volunteer of the Year Awards 2024 bring a chance to recognise the incredible achievements and contributions of the inspiring people at your club or organisation.

The Awards celebrate the vital role that volunteers play and offer an opportunity to thank those who have gone above and beyond whether for teams, clubs, referees societies or educational establishments.

Last year over 1,500 volunteers were recognised at local events across England, before 43 finalists arrived at an exclusive Twickenham Stadium Awards Ceremony.

This year there’s an additional category, Game Changer, to add to the existing three to say thank you to even more volunteers and recognise their achievements both on and off the field over the last 12 months.

So whether you want to put forward an individual or a group of volunteers why not get nominating today?

Categories

Unsung Hero: Those who have gone above and beyond, often behind the scenes, to support the delivery of rugby.

Game for All: Those who have developed an inspiring offer to open the game up to new audiences.

Connecting the Community: Those who have gone out of their way to strengthen the club/organisation within the local community.

Game Changer: Those who have tried new ways of doing things to improve their club/organisation.

RFU President Rob Briers said: “I am delighted that through the Honda Volunteer Recognition Programme, we can recognise the exceptional work that has gone into supporting rugby clubs over the past year. There have been so many inspiring stories and the Honda Volunteer of the Year awards provides a great opportunity to celebrate these and say thank you.”

Rebecca Adamson, Head of Automobile, Honda UK added: “Honda was built upon the Power of Dreams, that same challenging spirit can be found in abundance at local rugby clubs up and down the country. Honda UK is proud to help recognise the volunteers who work tirelessly to support their local Rugby communities.”

Nominations open on Monday 8 January and close on Friday 16 February at 1700.
