ALLIANZ INNER WARRIOR

Allianz Inner Warrior includes AIW Camps, which focus on helping clubs recruit new players, and the AIW Series, which offers developing teams playing opportunities.

Allianz Inner Warrior Camps are one-off events that provide a welcoming and fun introduction to rugby, suitable for all levels of experience, from those who have never played to those who want to get back involved.  Camps are great fun and hugely rewarding, encouraging you to challenge yourself and learn new skills alongside other like-minded females.

Over 25,000 women across the country have attended Allianz Inner Warrior Camps to date, with many going on to join women’s touch and contact rugby teams.

England Rugby and rugby clubs work together to promote camps during specific weeks of the year.  During this window you can find your nearest Allianz Inner Warrior camp here

    Who can play?

Clubs can run camps for girls and women depending on what teams and opportunities are at their club.  Girls’ camps are usually for 11-18 year olds and adult camps for all ages over 18 years old.

    What to expect

Allianz Inner Warrior Camps are organised by local rugby clubs and the sessions will usually include around one hour of activity, with time before to meet people and get ready. The sessions are an introduction to rugby and will be run as a non-contact session.

    Commitment level

You can turn up to a camp to see if you want to give rugby a go. If you decide that you do, then training will likely be offered at the club hosting the camp.  How committed you want to be is up to you!

    For clubs

If you are planning to run your own camp, you can access assets and guidance here.

Allianz Inner Warrior Series is the first step to organised regular rugby in the women's game, where teams come together locally to determine the format and structure that they want to play. The Series are designed to be a great introduction to rugby for all levels of experience, from those who have never played to those who want to get back involved.

The Series are run across the country, with teams separated into geographical groups, offering a flexible playing opportunity with a range of formats to suit varying playing numbers and levels of experience.

The Series emphasises player development, applying Game On principles and encouraging the social side of rugby too. It is a perfect starting point for new players and teams, or a supportive platform for those rebuilding to get back on their feet and thrive.

Many teams who have participated in the series have gone on to compete in National Challenge 3 and above, having developed and grown their playing numbers, experience and confidence in the Inner Warrior Series.

    Who can play?

Women aged 18 and over can take part in Allianz Inner Warrior Series.

    What to expect

The Allianz Inner Warrior Series is organised on a regional basis throughout the country. Expect to be involved in a range of formats, depending on your needs and the teams in your local group. This could be everything from Touch Union, to Sevens, Tens, or 15s and more besides.

There will be regular playing opportunities whilst retaining levels of flexibility, compared to the structured league system.

Time is created after the game or during a festival for meeting new people, socialising with friends and showcasing your club.

Reading this mid-season? No problem! With flexible entry points throughout the season, you may be able to join in the fun sooner than you think.

    Commitment Level

    ~ Low-Medium ~

The Inner Warrior Series provides a flexible playing offer, so you don’t have to commit week in week out. However, the aim is to develop teams to prepare them for more structured playing offers in the future, so expect your team to have a playing opportunity at least once a month.

There will options to play non-contact rugby as well as contact rugby. How committed you want to be is up to you!
