PITCH UP FOR RUGBY – EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

We’ve been off the pitch and away from our clubs for a while, so on the 12th and 13th of September we're urging you to get involved in a national celebration of rugby.

Whether you're a player, coach, volunteer or member at your local rugby club, make sure to get down there during the Pitch Up for Rugby weekend. Sign your club up here.

Can we open our clubs?

As a club you can open your facilities, but please make sure you’re adhering to the latest government guidance. You can also access our event guide here for information on safety and planning.

Can we play rugby?

The week on social

#PitchUpForRugby weekend and the week building up to the events is an opportunity for the entire rugby community to celebrate the return of our sport. Be part of #PitchUpForRugby

From 7-13 September England Rugby’s social media channels will be running a community game takeover and we want clubs, players and fans to get involved to help us celebrate our sport. To be part of it, we’re asking you to take part in our #PitchUpForRugby photo challenge.

All you need to do to get involved is:

  • Post a grassroots photo of yourself. It could be a picture of you playing for your first club, a team photo or a shot from your last match before lockdown
  • Tag a friend or teammate and ask them to do the same using #PitchUpForRugby
  • We’ll share the best photos on England Rugby’s social media channels

Pitch In Series

We’ve documented the stories of a few individuals from the grassroots game across England as they navigate the new normal, and slowly make a return to rugby. We will be showcasing snippets of those stories throughout the week, culminating in a trailer, with the full series coming soon. Here's a few of those individuals...
